Our Journey
The Ameritrain journey began in November 1997 when founder Carol Wilson, a 20-year veteran in training and development and a former adjunct instructor at Georgia State University, began providing mortgage education and support services. These services were provided to displaced residents as a result of the Atlanta, Georgia expansion of the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport Fifth Runway Project. The mortgage education support program benefited over 1,000 residents, helping them transition from renters to homeowners. The success of the program led to providing services to the professional mortgage community and in 2002 the mortgage training school was created.
The school was founded on a "real world" career preparation formula coupled with affordable alternatives for students. Through an orchestrated, systematic approach rooted in effective learning principles, Ameritrain applies this real world teaching format to ensure students are able to transfer learning to a dynamic environment.
Ameritrain targets individuals interested in making a career transition to the mortgage industry utilizing their existing skill sets from other industries. Professionals using our Training, Development, Resource (TDR) approach can make a complete career transition in a few weeks while increasing their earning potential. For individuals in the mortgage industry who have not received formal training, Ameritrain helps them become more structured, productive and profitable.
Ameritrain has now entered a new era in its journey and has launched its new e-learning platform providing the same level of quality instruction provided in live and self-study classes. Our national e-learning school, along with our live and self-study format, provides mortgage education support services to local communities throughout the United States.
